MetaMask security partner Blockaid secures $33M funding

In conjunction with the $33 million raise, Blockaid said it’s coming out of stealth with customers like MetaMask and OpenSea. Blockaid, a blockchain security startup and partner of the MetaMask cryptocurrency wallet, has secured $33 million funding to scale its technology designed to stop malicious transactions. The Series A funding round for Blockaid was led by major industry venture capital firms, including Coinbase investor Ribbit Capital and the early-stage VC firm Variant. Other funding members included Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts and Greylock Partners. Announcing the news on Oct. 23, Blockaid also said its security platform is coming out of stealth with its inaugural customers like MetaMask, the OpenSea marketplace, the Rainbow wallet and the Zerion wallet. Crypto winter? DeFi, Metaverse, and NFT job market still hot — Recruiters

The number one attribute to succeed in the crypto industry is a “start-up mentality” and the ability to “roll with the punches," a crypto recruiter tells Cointelegraph. The ongoing crypto winter has seen budgets and jobs slashed, but the search for top-tier talent hasn’t stopped across several Web3 verticals, according to some crypto recruitment firms. Speaking to Cointelegraph, Kevin Gibson, founder of crypto recruiting firm Proof of Search said that the majority of staff cuts in the crypto market have been from centralized exchanges , most notably the 18% staff cut at Coinbase in June, 10% cuts at Gemini in July, and the 5% cut at Crypto.com. The opposition party MPs has questioned the credibility over its failure to protect retail investors from FTX collapse and had demanded data on the extent of losses incurred by the investors. The collapse of the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX has put the Singapore prime minister and the ruling government in a hot seat. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong are set to face grilling questions for their failure to protect retail investors. The Members of Parliament (MP) from the opposition Workers’ party raised 15 questions about Temasek’s investment and FTX collapse . Fenix Games raises $150M to fuel next-generation blockchain gaming

Chris Ko, CEO and co-founder of Fenix Games, considers Fenix Games “like a VC fund” for powering the next generation of blockchain games. Web3 game publisher Fenix Games raised $150 million in funding to acquire, invest and distribute blockchain games. The fund will be used to create a game publishing company specifically for mainstreaming blockchain games. Fenix Games’ latest Funding round saw participation from investors, including Phoenix Group and Dubai-based venture capital firm Cypher Capital, reported local news media Jinse. Cardano DeFi project halted due to 'funding' & 'timeline' issues

Ardana, a prominent DeFi project built on top of Cardano took to Twitter to announce that it has halted development. Its official tweet noted, “ Unfortunately due to recent developments with regards to funding and project timeline uncertainty, the Ardana project has had to come to a halt. Our code will remain open source for builders to continue our work going forward as they wish.” It is worth noting that, venture capital firms have been distancing away from Cardano -related project s of late citing that it was risky to invest funds into the ecosystem.
